The BIG Announcement...We're having another baby

Here are the latest ultrasound pictures.  I'm at 12 weeks 1 day today so I'm due May 13, 2012.  So far everything is looking good.  My results from my initial bloodwork are completely normal.  We're in the middle of genetic testing right now so we're not sure when we'll know anything about that, but we're not worried.  My next OB appointment is the week of Thanksgiving so we're hoping to hear the heartbeat by then, we've been able to see it at least in the ultrasounds.  It seems like I've been more nauseous than the first time, I've thrown up a couple times.  The preggie pops help a lot.  I'm starting to show so I need to dig out my maternity clothes and see what I need to get.  We've emptied out the room that was the office and are going to turn it into Holly's room.  Holly's nursery will go to the baby.  Daddy just needs some time where he can make a racket without Holly interupting.  There's all sorts of rewiring that needs to happen.  I don't think Holiday understands yet that she's going to be a big sister, but she's done quite well at tolerating the doctor's appointments.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

She really liked that slide.

So did Daddy.

Time for the tractor pull hay ride.

Holiday on her pony, Snowfire.  She was so mad when the ride was over.

Laying down makes you go faster.

Now it's time to pick our pumpkins.

Holly's the cutest.

She was hitting the pumpkin here because it was dirty.

She absolutely loved getting her own special pumpkin.

It's the coolest.

We've had more success getting Holly to use her potty at home.  She's even pooped a couple times.  Then she jumps and yells, "I did it!"  We give her all sorts of acolades so she knows it's a good thing and will continue to do it.  She's also had a nasty cold all week.  No vomiting or fever, just snot and a terrible cough.  It really seems like it's taking its time on her too.  The last three days she seems even, not getting worse but not getting better either.  Now David and I are starting to feel it too.

Surprise Daddy!

With the help of our good friends the Preston family, I threw a surprise Halloween/40th Birthday Party for David last Saturday.  Thank you to everyone who participated.  He really was surprised too.  I got him there under the guise of a Toddler Meetup.  We went to a Halloween themed one last year so it wasn't far fetched in the slightest.  I thought the venue, Trophy Cupcakes, turned out great.  Holiday got a little clingy after the loud, "Surprise!"  But after sitting down to yummy pb&j sandwiches she warmed right up.  She even did a little dancing later.  It was really great seeing everyone there.

Dancin' Holly

They started a new music class at daycare yesterday.  Most of the little kids were just watching what was going on, but Holly decided that she was going to get up and dance.  The daycare ladies were delighted.  We got Holly a new Halloween costume this year, she's going to be Minnie Mouse.  It comes with ears and little shoes.  Holly's been doing good with regular paper books as opposed to the board books.  She doesn't tear them to shreds anymore.  She mostly flips the pages and identifies what she can from the pictures and makes the rest up with chatter we can't always translate.  One thing we do have to watch with her is that she likes to color in everything and we'd prefer she colors in her coloring books not regular books.  She's also taken to doing craft projects.  David and Holly decorated a treasure box with jewels on Monday.

Holiday's first convention

We went to Geek Girl Con (the first one) this last Saturday.  Holly didn't like waiting in line at will call for our tickets, but she liked wearing the pass on the lanyard.  It came down to her knees.  David watched Holly while I went to a panel about women in Star Wars.  It was great.  Holly got fussy though so David ran her around the fountain area (it was at various buildings at the Seattle Center).  There was an Arab Festival going on in a different building and Holly really liked that because they had arts and crafts for her to do.  We had lunch and went back to vendor/artist room.  Many of the booths had candy for grabs and Holly really liked that.  She was taking tiny bites off of her Hershey's kiss, making that puppy last.  After that David took Holly home.  Then I took my time looking at all the stuff, talking to the people.  I went to another panel about Stunt Grrrls (that is how it's spelled).  It was interesting and funny.  I was planning on going to the one about Steam Punk but the interest in it was grossly underestimated and from what I could tell from the line, it was going to be about 500% capacity so I bagged it and went home.  I had a good time, there probably needs to be more kids' activities before we take Holly again.

It's soooo awesome

Last night David was telling me about talking with the daycare lady and she told him that Holly went peepee in the potty.  Then Holly jumped into the story and said with lots of feeling, "I went peepee in the potty.  It's soooo awesome."  I really couldn't help but laugh.  She still doesn't like doing it at home.

Holiday's growing again

We've all been doing pretty good lately.  I've gone through Holly's clothes and have packed away the stuff she's outgrown.  She still fits in to some of the 2T stuff but when we get anything new we pick out a 3T.  3T is a little big on her right now so she's kind of in between sizes.  We've bumped her up to a size 7 shoe now.  Her little ladybug galoshes are too small for her, we'll need to get some new ones before we go the farm/pumpkin patch. They're good for having in the rainy season anyways.  Holly still fits her pajamas but by the next growth spurt she'll need new ones.  I've picked up a couple long sleeved tops but she'll need more, I need to get her more pants too.  I've dressed her in some leggings that we already had and they actually still fit.  Maybe she's gotten taller so they fit on her chunky legs.  So I'm giving leggings the OK.  I still need to check if her pirate costume would still fit her from last year, it might.  David and I have been doing some cleaning, reorganizing and purging on the house.  We have a lot of stuff in storage down in the basement so it could probably be organized better.  There will probably be a small remodel job in our future.  ;)
