6 days in a row!!

That's right folks...Holly is definitely getting the whole night time potty training deal.  It would be nice if we didn't need to buy pull ups for her anymore.

Successful Sequel

What do you know?  The kids made it through another night without issue.  I've heard people tell us that one day a switch will flip and Holly will just be ready to be potty trained.  I was always skeptical because that sounded way too easy, but maybe that's what happening here.  She even woke up in a good mood today and she's definitely not a morning person.

Whoo-hoo!

Holly made it through the night last night without an accident.  Johnny didn't wake up in the middle of the night either.  That's close to 6 hours of sleep.  Sweet victory...here's hoping for a sequel.

Potty Training Progress

So mid-week last week Holiday decided that she didn't want to wear pull-ups anymore.  Usually any daytime accidents are a result of a wardrobe malfunction so that's less common to happen but occasionally does.  She can make it through nap time easily without an accident.  Over night is a different ball game but she is trying.  Some nights she has an accident and doesn't wake up.  Other nights she does and wakes up upset.  Night before last she had a dry night...total A+!!!  I have two sets of bedding for her so I do a lot of laundry.  It's now an extra task for the morning routine and bed down routine but a task worth doing.  Basically like I get Johnny up before we go to bed to feed him again so we have an attempt at a decent night's sleep, we take Holiday to the bathroom to go one last time before we go to bed in the hopes that her bed is dry in the morning.  Her record so far is 7 1/2 hours but hasn't consistently made that mark yet.  But she's trying oh-so-hard and still insists that she doesn't want to wear the pull-up...just the panties.  We got some errands done over the last weekend.  David and I both got hair cuts and David got the oil changed in the car.  Did some birthday shopping around too.  Yesterday we saw Anna dance at the Irish Festival at the Seattle Center.  She's been the group long enough to rank the embroidered dress and the hard shoes.  Toni embroidered the dress herself since it's such a money saver, I guess those puppies run around $500.  WHOOWEE!!!  I'd be getting out the needle and thread too.  In a couple years Anna will rank the sequined dress which run thousands of dollars (OMG) so Toni will be sewing those too.  But Anna looked great out there and the whole troupe of dancers were real sharp.

Weekend in Review

Holly did much better in dance class this week.  It wasn't a viewing week so David and I peeked in the window and she was all into the lesson.  I also think the colds are pretty much gone now so that probably helped.  We got outside on Saturday, we just set up Johnny in his saucer in the shade in a nice grassy spot.  I  knocked out the pruning on the butterfly bush and David cleaned up the bush/holly/blackberry trimmings.  Holly got to play in her sandbox and played a little badminton with Daddy.  David also checked out our lawnmower and thinks he can fix it, that's worth a shot anyway.  If he can that saves us from buying a new one and we'll need to mow soon.  All in all, it was a good block of yardwork done and even filled up the green bin for this week's pick up.  Sunday we did the usual leisurely morning and grocery shopping.  Johnny had a little tumble while cruising the living room.  He's being a little more adventureous by trying to take a step on his own.  He was doing just that and crashed into a pile of toys.  He's okay but he got a cut under his eye fairly high on his cheekbone.  It looked better this morning now that the swelling is gone but it's still fairly red.  We're just focusing on keeping it clean so it doesn't get any worse.  Poor baby boy...

Colds are Lame...Part 2?

Either this is a second bug or the last one is taking its darn sweet time.  Holly is a little sniffly and coughy.  Johnny is doing better on the runny nose and the cough.  David feels as if the cold has never left him.  I feel like there's a new one starting up on me.  Or I could just be a little run down by the lack of sleep factor because I feel better today after getting a solid 6 hours of sleep last night.  I have some post-nasel thing happening with slight sore throat and the mildest of headaches and muscle soreness.  It's like feeling generally mildly crappy so I don't know which direction this is going yet.  To add to this Johnny's teeth were hurting him really bad this morning...those little teethies have got to break through soon.  It's so weird that he got his last 8 teeth incredibly early and it's taking such a long time for the next round.  Holly was acting up last Saturday during her dance lesson and it's hard to say what the issue was.  It could be that she wasn't feeling too well or she felt a little too much pressure being first on stage during the lesson.  In either case, it wasn't her fault but it was still upsetting.  It'll get easier when can communicate her feelings better.  But it wasn't all bad either, Grandma and Grandpa took us all to the Museum of Flight and the kids had a lot of fun checking stuff out.  I actually got out in the yard on Sunday and pruned all the roses...finally.  Our grass is getting super happy with all the rain and sun so it might need the first mow of the year soon.  We'll have to see what we have time for this weekend, especially if we're in for more sickness.
