Check it out

I had to put a t-shirt on last night because I was too hot for anything else. I'll have to get some prego ones soon, I don't think my regular oversized ones are going to make it much longer. I'm also noticing that my cat, Vader, senses something about my tummy. He usually faces whom/what he's snuggling and lately it's my tummy. He even rests his paw on my tummy when he does his bedding down thing. It's cute enough to make up for all the racket he makes when I'm trying to sleep.

More 'fun' stuff

On Saturday night I noticed my feet had swollen up a bit...but I won at Runebound so there was slight consolation for having fat toes. :) It didn't hurt and it went away the next morning only to show up in the left side of my face. I don't think anyone would have noticed it if I hadn't said anything about it. During my shower the swollenness went from my face back into my feet and over the course of the day went away altogether.

Passed the test

I do not have gestational diabetes...I'm glad. I'm a difficult case as it is with blood tests.

More Baby Updates

We had our last OB appointment on Friday and everything is going fine. The drink they gave me to do a gestational diabetes blood test wasn't horrible, but it'll be a few days to get the results from that. They only had to poke me once for the blood test too. My doctor showed us a chiropratic trick to put my leg back into place and it works. I can still feel the sciatica there but I can move around without extreme pain...good stuff. We took our first class on Sunday, it was all about newborn care and breastfeeding...good teachers and good information. Later that evening we took a tour of the birthing facilities in our hospital. I was really happy with what I saw. Even happier when I found out that all pregnancy patients get their own personal nurse all to themselves, no sharing with other patients. They have jacuzzi tubs/showers, community kitchens, highly adjustable beds to get as comfortable as possible, mobile monitoring units so you can walk around if that helps and space in the room for the daddies to sleep. The glass window nursery is a thing of the past. Studies have shown babies are happier sleeping with their families instead of a bunch of other babies. I'm still working on my cross-stitch announcement and the curtains, but they have both been moving along. I also started mailing out the baby shower invitations today.

The Gateway to the Third Trimester

Wow...It really feels like my body is going through another metamorphis in the past two weeks. I've gone from cruising around downtown to a sort of putter. I wasn't expecting the sciatica, but it's considered normal. Still hurts though. My tummy parts are getting uncomfortable, stretching out and all that. There's also been the great bouts of indigestion occurring quite often. And Holly...that girl has all sorts of moves now. :) She really likes Mounds candy bars or at least I think so because she does a dance of joy every time I eat one. It's also been difficult to spot any kind of consistencies in regards to my not so nice symptoms. So every day is different, good days and rough days. If anyone has ever heard me joke about how someday when I'm pregnant I'm just going to roll around everywhere because I'm short and solid...well it turns out I was completely on the money. Although you might call it more of a waddle than a roll. :)

Literally on my nerves

This weekend I discovered that the disconnected feeling with my hip and tailbone joints is actually slow oncoming sciatica. It makes sense to me now why our dining room chairs are suddenly uncomfortable. It also explains the painful limp. My little book says pregnancy sciatica happens when the baby is laying on a particular nerve. The remedy is to sit down on something comfortable, and the couch is still working for me.

Nursery Newsflash - The crib is set up

You can see the new wardrobe too. David's been hard at work putting together furniture. Our little nursery is coming together. :)

We've Picked a Name

Holiday Rose Anderson...we'll call her Holly for short. We've also signed up for our baby classes. I've been feeling fine in general and she moves around a lot now. I have noticed that I'm unable to sit in our wooden dining room chairs at the table for an extended period of time, even with padding. I woke up one night with a lot of pain throughout my back. Nothing that Tylenol and a heat pad couldn't fix. Learned my lesson there, won't do that again. Grandma Linda got us a crib and a mattress. The mattress has arrived but we're still waiting on UPS for the crib. They're still pretty backed up from all the bad weather we've been having. I finally got my material (Beatrix Potter prints) for sewing the curtains in the nursery...again bad weather. I've started cutting out my fabric pieces, I'm sure that project will take a little time because I'm being more careful not to overdo it because I'll be sitting at the table again. I've also started my little cross-stitch for a birth announcement, it's a Beatrix Potter pattern. I can do that while sitting on the couch so it's much more comfortable and I'm fast at cross-stitch, I'm already about a third of the way through that.
