Graduation Pictures

I spy Holiday adjusting her glasses in the front row.

Miss Kourtney and Mr. Andreas on either side of the class.

Holiday smiling at the camera wearing the black skirt with white polka dots.

Holiday receiving her diploma from Mr. Andreas.

This is what I found in the living room following the Georgetown carnival.  Holiday just snuggled up next to her sleeping daddy and tucked herself in.

Then she proceeded to sleep with her eyes open.

Holiday started summer camp this week and has been having a lot of fun.  Since she's too young and too small to go to the pool with the big kids, they have water days at Kids Co itself.  On designated days they can bring in bikes or scooters.  Today they went on a field trip to the Pacific Science Center.  Next week they will get to go to the zoo.  She's pretty excited about it.  Johnny has been getting pretty good with colors and shapes lately.  There's this pre-school workbook that Holiday was never into but Johnny just loves it.  He brings the workbook and a marker to me and we sit down and work through the pages.  He's getting better at patterns and is super good at finding the letters in the letter searches.  He's just getting to the age where you can sit him and teach him something.

Big Dance Recital Weekend!

Here's Holiday in her costume getting ready for pictures.

Here's her class...

...unfortunately four girls were late/absent.

Johnny is just too funny.

What else would you do with a bucket whose handle broke off?

Smile!

Holiday sleeping on the couch...with her eyes open...we just can't get used to it.

Daddy's glasses got nabbed.

Johnny fingerprints.

Good thing it's cute.

Little spaghetti monster face.

Here's the trellis David built me for Mother's Day.  The greenhouse to the right of it.  The pumpkin patch to the right of the greenhouse.  The most awesome pumpkins ever.

Whew! We made it through the weekend.  I took Friday off to take Holiday to the dentist and her rehearsal.  She was totally stoked to get her teeth checked.  She asked me excitedly whether she was getting a tooth pulled so she'd lose a tooth like her friend Olivia.  "No Holiday.  No tooth pulling today."  "Awwww!"  Seriously she was disappointed.  Then we walked downtown to the light rail station and took the rail home.  I was trying to make the day of errands fun so we make some chocolate chip cookies.  I squeezed in as many chores as I could, then we got ready for rehearsal.  We took the bus to Renton, which went pretty good.  We were there pretty early so we had time to scope out all the common areas, audience seating and back stage areas.  Poor Jenna, owner/manager/dance instructor, tore a ligament in her knee the day before so she just rolled around in an office chair the whole time directing traffic and giving directions.  Rehearsal went well, David and Johnny saw the tail end and we went home.  After David got the oil changed in the car on Saturday we went to the Pacific Science Center with Aunt Kelly, Uncle Wade and cousin Gage.  They have a special exhibit on spy history that was pretty cool.  After lunch we took the kids home to squeeze in as much nap as possible.  Then it was time for the big dance recital.  It was Jackson themed so everything Jackson 5, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson.  Holiday and her class did super awesome!  A little piece of me was thrilled that they had the older girls do Rhythm Nation, a tap number patterned after the video.  It was a great show!  Now we are looking forward to summer and a break from dance lessons.  We'll do other kinds of excursions with the kids and probably come back to dance class in September.

More Pictures!

This was Mother's Day brunch at Grandma's house.

Daddy made brunch at home and we brought it to Grandma's house.

Cheese!

We went to Kubota Gardens after brunch.

More Kubota, on a little island.

Waiting up in the rocks for Daddy.

This was Johnny's birthday party.

It had a Minion theme.

These were the cupcakes I made.  Thank you Pinterest.

Opening presents with Uncle Drew.

Johnny was getting sleepy since he didn't want to take a nap that day...

...but he perked right up after getting some cool stuff.

Johnny likes his new monster feet.

It's just too hilarious.

We went to the Carnival at Holiday's elementary school on Friday and it was fun.  They had food trucks and lots of games and activities for the kids.  Holiday's dance class was much like last week, but it's the last one of the year.  After class we went to the Georgetown Carnival and that was great too.  We got there early so Holiday got her face painted right away and we hit the food trucks pretty early.  That was nice since both of those usually have long lines.  We checked out the wares, power tool races, and music a little.  The performance art is a pretty big draw.  We let the kids play at the Sand Lot again.  Yesterday we took Daddy to Father's Day brunch at Ivar's Salmon House.  I gave him a Seahawks jersey and he really likes it.  It's something he's always wanted but probably would have never bought for himself.  This week will probably be a lot of preparing for the dance rehearsal on Friday and the recital on Saturday.  Woo-hoo!

Random one of Holiday and Anna in the middle.
