School Stuff

We attempted to go to the General PTA meeting at Holiday's school last week.  Total bust.  Whomever was in charge of the free daycare didn't show.  We waited 10 minutes and decided to bail since Johnny got slammed twice in the gym because there was about 40 kids in there ages 2-12 running around in chaos because they weren't allowed to use any of the equipment because they could get hurt.  (Sigh).  I guess that was a fail.  David ran into another parent that shared our situation the next day and said that gal that was supposed to show didn't until 7:30 pm.  The meeting was over at 8 pm.  Fail again.  We'll look into alternate child care for the next meeting.  Last night, however, we went to Holiday's school for Curriculum Night (aka Open House).  Much more fun.  Holiday showed us all over her classroom, her desk with a book bin (where they keep their library books and folders of their work).  Then we checked out the gym and met the gym teacher.  Johnny really likes the gym.  He likes to run around and be loud and gyms are good for that.  We saw the music room where the music teacher was running a work shop for the families there.  Then we visited the dance room where we learned a little dance to "What does the fox say?"  Holiday was great and Johnny did it too, so that was extra awesome.  We checked out the library and they had about 25-30 computers in there besides the books.  We signed up for Parent/Teacher Conferences before we left but that doesn't happen till the week of Thanksgiving so that's a ways out.  To sum up...Holiday loves Kindergarten.
